All of our pieces are made using prime grade furniture timber.
All our tables and seating are made using solid timber throughout as standard.
As timber expands and contracts throughout the seasons, timber movement is likely to occur. All our pieces consciously work with this natural movement of the timber and enable this movement. As such, alignments of edges may shift, if this happens don’t be alarmed, this is part of the beauty of the material and enables longevity.
Timber veneered top options are available on request. In this instance we will use a premium Birch Plywood as a planet friendly substrate option.
Our Combine Storage System uses premium Birch Plywood as a key design element.

As standard we use Hard Wax Oils from the Osmo range to finish our furniture. Various colour tints are available, please see our options when selecting an items in the Shop.
This is a finishing system that nourishes the natural timber fibres with a penetrating oil whilst in addition forming a protective wax coating on the furnitures surfaces.
This finish is practical in promoting longevity into the piece. It expands and contracts well, can be easily reapplied and topped-up. If damage does occur, a spot application of the finish can be undertaken. It also has a wonderful natural feel.
There are cautions to note, however. Like all finishes, this finish is not impervious to water damage, spills or chemical cleaners. Care must be taken around these. We ask that you follow the manufactures literature as guidance for the finishes care.
We can also offer a polyurethane or other alternative finish upon request. Please feel free to ask.

In order to keep your pieces in their best condition, care and maintenance is necessary. The following information should help with this.
Solid timber is a natural product with varying grain and colour. All species have this variance and, as such, not each product will be exactly the same. Being a natural product, timber will also respond to its environmental conditions, both seasonal changes and particular placement & usage. Moisture, heat and UV light are all factors that can cause damage. It is best that your timber surfaces are wiped clean, kept dry and free of dirt and grit.
In the most part clean using only a damp cloth and ensure the surface is dry after cleaning. Do not leave liquid to sit on timber surfaces as it will penetrate and may cause staining. All spills require immediate clean up.
Please ensure placemats are used between your timber surface and objects you may place upon it. Dining tables need particular care in this regard. Grit and dirt can also scratch the timber finish. This is best to avoid and as such regularly wipe timber surfaces to remove dust and dirt. Do not use cleaners or polishes as these may cause permanent damage or colour variation in your furniture.
Please take consideration where your product is placed. Exposure to direct or reflected sunlight can deteriorate the timber finish. Timber placed within windows may show exaggerated deterioration. General in-present UV light within the product environment will alter the tone of the timber over time, this is to be expected.
Placement too close to a heat source could cause a significant environmental change where timber can warp and shrink. Be careful near heaters and underfloor heating sources as these may distort the timber through warping and shrinkage.
If, however damage does occur through time or an unforeseen accident please feel free to get in touch as refinishing of your product is likely available and we can offer further advice.
Please also refer to any additional literature we may have provided you in regard to the finish applied to your furniture piece as there will be specific manufacturers care and treatment instructions.
